FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 is the baseline for the U.S. market — it requires extractables testing under food-contact conditions. LFGB (§30 & §31) is the stricter German standard adopted across the EU: it mandates sensory testing (odor and taste transfer) in addition to migration limits, and requires platinum-cured silicone. LFGB-certified silicone is considered higher quality and typically costs 5-10% more than FDA-only material.

Platinum (addition) cure uses no peroxide residues, produces no odor, and passes LFGB sensory tests — required for food-grade, medical, and baby products. Peroxide cure costs less but leaves residual odor and byproducts that require extended post-curing to remove; it fails LFGB sensory panels even if FDA migration limits are met.

For custom-molded parts, MOQ typically ranges from 1,000-10,000 pieces, but stock items or low-complexity designs may have lower thresholds. Small-batch prototyping is also available upon request.

Yes — we accept trial orders and small-batch prototyping. However, lower quantities increase per-unit pricing because fixed costs (mold amortization, setup time) are spread over fewer pieces. We can also discuss sample-only agreements before committing to full production runs.
